Profile

Boom Sherrin commenced operations in 1968, trading then as M.J. Sherrin Pty Ltd. Today, Boom Sherrin operates as a division of Boom Logistics in the comprehensive provision of travel tower and access equipment.
The first branch was opened in Whyalla, an active South Australian regional town. In a few short years the company expanded to Adelaide and then to Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, Western Australia and Tasmania. During this period of expansion M.J Sherrin Pty. Ltd. became a national leader in the travel tower rental market. Today Boom Sherrin has evolved to become Australia’s only provider of travel tower and access equipment nationwide.
By the late 1980’s M.J Sherrin Pty. Ltd. had built a quality national network of 20 branches throughout Australia servicing major industrial companies. These organisations included Power Authorities, Civil Works, Water Boards, Councils, Rail Authorities, Telecommunication Providers, Mining Companies, Airlines, Construction and Manufacturing , as well as fulfilling the needs of many individual contractors.
In 1997, the company changed its name to Sherrin Hire in recognition of the growth experienced from its humble beginnings in Whyalla and the new strategic direction of the network. By July the same year, Sherrin Hire also committed to enter the self propelled access equipment hire market with the addition of scissor and boom lifts to the existing fleet. The enhanced fleet widened the customer base and created new markets, in which to offer a complete access equipment and service offer.
In August 2005, Sherrin Hire was acquired by Boom Logistics, who had identified the former as a market leader with an outstanding reputation for the reliable provision of quality equipment and a strong customer focus. The acquisition of Victorian company Moorland Hire in June 2007 coincided with the name change from Sherrin Hire to Boom Sherrin - consolidating our position as a truly national provider of travel tower and access equipment.
Today Boom Sherrin’s network expands 25 branches, employs over 350 people and operates a fleet of over 3,000 elevated work platforms and generation equipment. The platforms range from a six metre one man lift to a unique 70 metre travel tower. In a demanding environment, this equipment can be relocated to accommodate any size project, at any location throughout Australia.
Boom Sherrin recognises that our customers are our future, and the success of our future lies in the consistent quality of service we must provide to each and every one of our customers every day.
